He broke the barrier

Ephesians 2:11-22

There are so many people out there who are searching for answer to a lot of questions on their minds. So many do not even have a sense of direction. So many are lost and need people to show them the way. So many souls are living in ignorance and need people to show them truths and fact. some just need a listening ear. Another set needs someone to show them love. So many are broken-hearted and need to be healed. So many need forgiveness but don’t know how to go about it. So many hearts are empty and need to be filled with God’s word. They hunger and thirst and do not know how to be filled. So many are groping in darkness and don’t know how to search for light. So many are sick an spirit and body and all they need is a touch.

I marvel at statements made by the modern day Christians. When it comes to accepting unbelievers into the christian fold. You hear people say stuff like we cannot allow them into the church so they do not pollute the church. “Why should we allow people with dreads or mini skirt into the church?”, She is a prostitute and she should not come to this church and pollute  our daughters. ” He has a reputation as a thief please make sure you stay away from him.” She has had series of abortions so please be careful.

Why have we suddenly gone so cold and unfeeling?. We are so quick to judge these set of people. Have you stopped to think for once that you were once unsaved like them?  we are quick to point fingers and label people. If I may ask, who made you judge? Mr. and Mrs. self righteous….

Remember that before you were saved you were once

  • Separated from God
  • Excluded from the common wealth of Israel
  • Without hope
  • Without God in the world

But Christ gave you hope, brought you into the common wealth of Israel, and gave unlimited access to God the father by grace through His finished work on the cross of Calvary.

We need to wake up to the reality of what Christ did on the cross of Calvary. He actually came to break the barrier between the saved and the unsaved. Eph. 2:14. Apart from saving us from our sins and redeeming us, He came to create in himself one body from these two sets of people (save and unsaved). He came to reconcile both to God. Eph. 2:15-16.

When He said “it is finished” and His blood dropped to the ground, the Bible records that there was a shaking of the earth and the veil tore. The torn veil signifies the access to God which has been given to every one who believes.

Jesus left a legacy by breaking the barrier and re-uniting us with the Father so that we may become sons as well. As Christ Ambassadors we are to carry on in that legacy by reaching out to the unsaved and dying world. The world needs to hear how much God loves them that he sent his Son to die for our sins so we can all stand before Him as one.

Let’s quit judging but start lifting up the name of God so all men can be drawn to him.

Have a blessed day.

Tell me what you think.
